Your dog trusts you completely. We take that seriously. Every decision we make — from how we verify members to how we handle reports — is made with the safety of your dog, and you, in mind.
Everyone here is who they say they are.
Anonymous accounts have no place in a community built on trust. Every good frens member verifies their phone number before their profile is approved — a simple, friction-free step that confirms you're a real person. It's a small thing that makes a meaningful difference for everyone in the community.
The right match from the start.
Not every dog is right for every playdate — and that's okay. Our matching is built around compatibility, not just proximity. We consider size, energy level, and temperament so that by the time two dogs meet, the groundwork for a good experience has already been laid.
Public places. Real people.
We always recommend that your first playdate with a new match happens in a public space — a local park, a dog-friendly trail, a familiar neighborhood spot. Trust is built over time, and that's a good thing. Every member agrees to two policies at sign-up that reflect this.
I agree to meet other good frens members in a public place for our first playdate — such as a park, trail, or other open, populated area. I understand this recommendation exists for the safety of myself, my dog, and the people I'm meeting.
I understand that good frens is a platform that facilitates connections between members. All in-person meetups are arranged voluntarily and at my own discretion. I take personal responsibility for my own safety and the safety of my dog during any meetups arranged through the app. good frens is not liable for any outcomes arising from member interactions.
You're never on your own.
If something ever feels off, we make it easy to act. Reporting, blocking, and support are built into the app — not buried in a help menu. Our team reviews every report, and we take action quickly. The community looks after itself, and we look after the community.
Kindness isn't optional here.
Every good frens member agrees to our community guidelines at sign-up. They're simple: be kind, be honest, show up. We reserve the right to remove anyone who doesn't — and we exercise it. This community is worth protecting.
Safety isn't a feature.
It's the foundation.
good frens exists because connection matters — for dogs and for the humans who love them. We'll keep earning your trust, one good playdate at a time.
